The standard contest, step by step

Choose a Fantasy Contest
Choose an event and region. Check when picks lock and which pros you can select.

Build a seven-player squad
The standard format has seven slots. At least two picks must be IGLs, at least two must be Fraggers and the remaining three slots are open. A player can satisfy one required role; the open slots can take either role.

Stay within 100 credits
A price is what a pick costs, not a verdict on who is the better player. Prices run from 6 to 30 credits and are fixed for that Fantasy Contest. You may select only one player from any real competitive duo, so a squad cannot double up on both members of the same team.

Choose an MVP
One selected player scores 1.5×. The extra MVP portion is capped using the contest's scheduled games; the standard rate is 7.5 bonus points per scheduled game. The live contest guide shows the applicable cap before lock.

Save before the lock
You can change the squad and MVP while entries are open. At lock, the saved squad becomes the team that scores for that contest. A late browser refresh does not create a grace period, so leave time to review the final seven.

Why some contests look different
Competitive Fortnite does not use one tournament structure all year, so NBF Fantasy does not force every event into one squad shape. The builder shown for the active contest is always the source of truth.
Standard and FNCS
- Seven players and a 100-credit budget.
- At least two IGLs and two Fraggers.
- Maximum one player from each real duo.
- Placement, eliminations and event-specific bonuses.
A contest may also add a settlement award for qualifying, winning or finding an under-picked player who advances. Those awards are described before lock and appear as separate lines in the final score; they do not receive the MVP multiplier.
During the event
How a saved squad turns into a score
The Fantasy Contest moves through Open, Locked, Live and Final states. While it is Live, imported matches update player totals and the public board. Placement points belong to both players in the real duo. An elimination, assist or individual fantasy bonus belongs only to the player who earned it.
Live scores are provisional. A tournament correction, roster ruling or delayed match can change the leaderboard before the contest is marked Final. When the final check is complete, the contest result feeds the season system and the record becomes part of the public results.

Play together
Private leagues use the same squads
A private league does not create a second entry or change the rules. Each member keeps the squad they submitted to the main Fantasy Contest, and the league leaderboard compares those same scores inside a smaller group. Create a league, share its invitation code and use the global leaderboard when you want the wider benchmark.
NBF Fantasy is free to play and has no cash prizes or paid entry. Managers must be at least 13. A Discord sign-in identifies the manager and keeps saved squads, leagues and season records attached to the same account.
